Using
the Rods
The Rods may Cross
instead of seperate, it
still works the same

The way they work is: you hold them parallel and straight out in front
of you, when you come to a water pipe made of cast or steel they begin
to separate, when you are over the pipe they are all the way
apart,
this way you can tell how deep the water or pipe is also.
When the rods start to swing apart or sometimes they will cross, as they start to move count your steps, till the sticks quit moving. if you took four steps an a step is two feet then the pipe is eight feet down. Try not to allow you imagination get involved. Just relax, keep the rods straight out. maybe just a slight down angle as to keep them together in front of you as you walk. |
